Amy & Jake
When Amy and I first spoke on the phone, we clicked right away. She and her fiance Jake are those dream clients that have super cool style and trust you completely. The Brooklyn-based couple decided to tie the knot at the Old Mill nestled in the woods of Rose Valley, PA.
To compliment both the early autumn surroundings and the bridesmaids’ sepia-toned dresses, we kept our palette towards warm neutrals with accents of mauve and copper. Locally sourced dahlias, rudbekia, celosia, cosmos, marigolds, sedum, strawflower and more September favorites came together in organic shapes filled with texture and contrast.
Amy and Jake’s ceremony was held in the front garden tucked away down a stone path. We created two colorful floral columns to stand out from the lush green background. More flowers greeted guests and then the wedding party as they walked down the aisle.
Following the golden hour ceremony, guests made their way over to the timber pavilion and courtyard. There they sipped drinks and ate hors d’oeuvres while exploring the stone ruins or mingling in front of the floral-adorned and candle-lit fireplace.
Amy and Jake wrapped up family portraits and spent time with their guests before heading inside the ballroom for reception. The table numbers were created by the bride, who pressed the enclosed flowers herself. Completing the guest tables were local grasses, foliage and flowers in assorted glass bud vases. We softened the room with greenery and pillar candles for a naturally cozy vibe and brought in the floral columns to frame the DJ booth. To compliment the naked cake, flowers were styled in minimal yet textural way.
We are so grateful for clients like Amy and Jake that entrust us to make their day beautiful, and also to the talented vendors we are fortunate to work with. This wedding came together like a dream and will forever be one of our favorites.
